Sierra Leone's First lady evicted by Southwark council

The first lady of the republic of Sierra Leone, Fatima Jabbe-Bio has been evicted from London Southwark council flat that she had been allocated during her stay as a United Kingdom citizen then before becoming the first lady of the west African country. Mr and Mrs Bio lived in London, England before returning back and become the president of the republic but kept their Southwark council flat until now. The coucil had been under pressure from anti-migration groups to cracking down on illegal possession of local government properties to dual or non-dom citizens. The council said it investigates all allegations of tenancy fraud and unlawful occupation and in the last two years has recovered 107 properties. Southwark Council confirmed it had taken possession of Fatima Jabbe-Bio’s two-bedroom property in Walworth this week following a year-long investigation. Ms Jabbe-Bio had lived in the taxpayer-subsidised home for more than a decade, but left the capital in 2018 when her husband, Julius Maada Bio, was elected president of Sierra Leone
